METAL HEADS : Cain & Aven
upon receiving an invite from Yiihuu.com to create a tutorial for them, i took the opportunity to give myself a challenge of creating a larger set of artworks.
The story was first conceptualized late 2018 and was my final video edit and voice recording for the tutorial was completed late October 2019.
This character (Cain & Aven) is an accumulation of everything I love and an honest exploration of my relationship with the biblical characters Cain and Abel.
In short, upon reading about Cain and Abel, it was a long time since that i found a character arc that i could fully relate too- the persistent feeling of being second best, and insecure feeling of Cain having his sacrifices ignored by God connected with me deeply.

Final breakdown concept, painted over Blender model
Turn around video of the model from Blender. The UV unwrapping was all automatic and is only using rudimentary textures from Polygon.com
Earlier raw test renders in Blender looked better in my opinion. but we're so intensive on my system that i had to decimate the model substantially.
because of the decimation, alot of the Edge detection material that i created didn't show it self that well
